My DIY Steamer
This is what I ended up with. This happens to be an old pressure cooker, but almost any pot with a cover should work. I replaced the pressure release with a simple fitting I could slip a piece of hose over.
Originally I started with one of these:
But after sending two back because they just didn’t work the second time I used it, I decided to try a Power Steamer 715 Multi-Purpose Wallpaper Steamer but had the same issue.
And I had the exact same problem. It may have been from hard water, but my water isn’t that hard. I went through 2 of the first and 1 of the second and gave up.
I’ve heard several guys who find old wall paper steamers at yard sales and flea markets and use it. I can see where it would work, but I didn’t want to wait until I found one.
